Work Experience

Matt started as an engineer in 1984 at Kimberly Clark Corporation (New Milford, CT) and then Boeing Helicopters (Philadelphia, PA). While transitioning to becoming a patent attorney, he worked at Pratt & Whitney (East Hartford, CT) for over 16 years. Matt started as an engineer before realizing his passion in intellectual property law. Over the course of the years of working at P&W, he was able to change his job role from Engineer, to Patent Engineer, and finally, to Patent Attorney after obtaining his law degree.

Matt transferred within United Technologies Corporation to Carrier Corporation (Syracuse, NY) as an IP Attorney. He started at the law firm of Cantor Colburn (Windsor, CT) in 1997 and remained for two years. He then joined a start-up, CiDRA Corporation (Wallingford, CT), as an IP Counsel. Matt followed the acquisition of a division of CiDRA to Weatherford. At Weatherford International, Inc. (Wallingford, CT), Matt was the Senior IP Counsel for over 11 years before starting his own company, Optimal IP Strategies in 2014.
